Russell Doyle volunteered for the US Army but was declared 4F because of an issue with the curvature of his spine. Undaunted and wanting to serve, Russell became a civilian contractor in the Red Horse project, overseeing military personnel in building roads all through the delta country in southern South Vietnam. Russell spent 1969 and 1970 in country supporting our troops by building roads to and at fire bases including Lai Khe and Khe Sahn. Russell now suffers many Agent Orange related physical issues and our government has turned their back on him. Our members embrace Russell as one of our brothers and he attends breakfasts every Saturday, only missing about once each quarter when he volunteers with the Beaverton Police Department. Russell is a true and unsung hero.

Cabela’s provided coffee and many stopped to thank us for our service. Cabela’s also has veterans discounts so pass the word and stop by.
